What the columns mean
- Case: the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) number and name, or the state court program.
- Pending cases: lawsuits still open in that MDL on the report date. It is not the number of people who will be paid.
- Status: "Active" when the court is still receiving new cases and law firms are filing them. "Closed or settled" when a settlement program or court order ended new filings.
